Terms of Service

Last updated: 09 May 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ShelfIt ("the App"), operated by Brittany Eames ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. About ShelfIt

ShelfIt is a personal link-saving app that allows users to save, organise, and discover links from across the internet. Claude AI, provided by Anthropic, automatically summarises and categorises saved links. The App may also generate personalised recommendations and suggestions based on your saved content.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use ShelfIt. By using the App, you confirm that you are 18 or older.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must notify us immediately at shelf.links@gmail.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use ShelfIt only for lawful purposes. You must not use the App to save, share, or promote content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or infringes on the rights of others. You must not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or disrupt the App or its infrastructure.

5. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the App, including its design, code, and content, belong to Brittany Eames. You retain ownership of the links and notes you save, but by using the App you grant us a limited licence to process that content in order to provide the service, including passing link data to Anthropic's AI for summarisation and categorisation.

6. AI Processing

ShelfIt uses Anthropic's Claude AI to automatically summarise and categorise links you save. By using the App, you consent to your saved link data being processed by Anthropic for this purpose. AI-generated summaries and categories are provided for convenience and may not always be accurate. AI summaries are generated from publicly available page metadata and do not constitute professional advice of any kind.

7. Third Party Services

ShelfIt uses third party services including Supabase for data storage and authentication, and Anthropic for AI processing. Your use of the App is subject to the terms and privacy policies of these providers.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

ShelfIt is provided "as is" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times, free from errors, or that AI-generated content will be accurate.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brittany Eames shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of ShelfIt. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid to use the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of ShelfIt shall first be resolved through informal negotiation. If informal negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in the United Kingdom.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes before they take effect. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes not resolved by arbitration shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. User Generated Content

ShelfIt allows you to make collections publicly visible to other users. You are solely responsible for any content you choose to make public. You must not share collections containing illegal, harmful, defamatory, or copyright-infringing content. We reserve the right to remove any public content that violates these Terms without notice. By making a collection public, you grant us a limited licence to display that content to other users of the App.

15. Affiliate Links

ShelfIt may modify certain links you save to include affiliate tracking codes. This means we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through a saved link, at no additional cost to you. We will never overwrite an existing affiliate or referral code belonging to a creator or third party. Affiliate tracking is applied only to links from participating retailers where no existing affiliate code is present.

16. Copyright and DMCA

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe content accessible through ShelfIt infringes your copyright, please send a notice to shelf.links@gmail.com including: a description of the copyrighted work, the specific content you believe infringes it, your contact details, and a statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the content is not authorised by the copyright owner. We will investigate and remove infringing content where appropriate.

17. Contact Us
